The Indian captain Rohit Sharma was praised for announcing his retirement from Test cricket on Wednesday, noting that he has made significant contributions to Indian cricket.

Rohit Sharma has made significant contributions to Indian cricket. He has decided to step away from Test cricket. As our policy states, retiring from any form of the game rests solely with the player. We do not exert pressure or request anyone to retire. This choice was his own after careful consideration. We fully support his decision and commend his efforts.
