Diksha Aims for Greater Success in LET; Pranavi, Avani, and Tvesa Join Her in South Korea

Seoul [South Korea], May 8 (ANI): Led by an Indian quartet,
Diksha Dagar
and
Pranavi Urs
go back into action
Ladies European Tour
(
LET
) following a three-week hiatus at the
Aramco Korea Championship
Diksha and Pranavi will be accompanied by
Tvesa Malik
and rookie Avani Prashanth.

The competition starts on Friday at the New Korea Country Club for the consecutive second year.

Diksha has had an impressive season and aims to continue this form following top-10 performances in her past two tournaments—the T-9 finish at the SA Women’s Open and the T-8 at the Joburg Open. Prior to these, she secured a T-11 position at the NSW Open in Australia. At the beginning of the season, she came in second place at the Lalla Meryem Cup in Morocco.

Currently fifth on the
LET
Order of Merit
In her six starts, Diksha has achieved three top-10 finishes and only missed making the cut once.

Pranavi and Avani, Karnataka natives who have claimed numerous victories on their local circuit, the Hero Women’s Pro Tour, have shown promising performances up until now. In her five appearances, Pranavi has advanced past the cut line four times and secured two top-15 finishes—tying for 14th place in the NSW Open and tying for 11th in the SA Women’s Open. Currently, she ranks 37th overall.

Newcomer Avani has secured four top cuts out of her five tournaments, achieving two notable placements: tied for 16th place at the Lalla Meryem Cup and tied for 13th at the Australian Women’s Classic. Currently, she stands at 38th position on the Merit list.

Tvesa Malik
will be hoping for a reversal in fortunes as she has made just one cut in four starts and will need some strong results to rise from her current 134th place.

All four aim to secure a robust standing to vie for their national tournament, the Women’s Indian Open, which is scheduled later in the year.

This marks the seventh event scheduled globally for 2025, where 104 participants hailing from 33 different countries will compete in both Team and Individual events. A total prize money of $2 million is up for grabs. Of this amount, $1.5 million pertains specifically to the individual contest, while an additional $500,000 is designated for the team category. For the Team competition, only the top two net scores out of the four players per hole contribute toward their respective teams’ cumulative tally.

World No 8
Hyo Joo Kim
Leads the competition at home and will defend her title following a three-stroke win in 2024. Joining her is countrymate and major champion Sung Hyun Park, along with Danielle Kang from the USA, who was the victorious captain in last year’s team event.

There are many
LET
victors featuring at least 34 titleholders competing in Seoul.

The group of 104 participants will form 26 squads. Among these, one team will consist of four South Korean amateurs, while the remaining 25 squads will each comprise four professional players.

Following 36 holes of play, after trimming down to the top-60 players, the last day will be dedicated solely to the Individual competition. (ANI)
